Is access to raw measurement data available?

Selected residual stress measurement data (ASTM E837-20) is available under research collaboration agreements. Contact us to discuss data sharing scope and terms.

Can PSP prepare treated material samples for independent research?

Yes. We prepare treated samples of specified material, geometry, and treatment parameters for third-party testing, characterisation, and publication. Contact us to specify material, dimensions, treatment area, and timeline.

Which materials and stress profiles have been characterised so far?

We measure residual-stress profiles by the hole-drilling method to ASTM E837-20, the recognised standard for residual-stress determination. So far we have characterised tool steel (Uddeholm Dievar), stainless steel (AISI 304L), aluminium alloy (Dural AW-2027A), and cemented carbides. The depth-resolved compressive-stress profiles are available on request.

Collaboration

Can PSP support experimental campaigns for publication?

Yes. We actively support co-authored publications. Authorship, acknowledgement, and data use are agreed as part of the collaboration terms.

Can the PSP device be brought to a research facility?

Yes. The device is portable (10.5 kg, robot-arm mounted) and can operate at external sites. Arrangements are subject to agreement on safety, logistics, and research scope.

What collaboration models are available?

Research Collaboration — with universities, research institutes, and research and development centres. We collaborate on joint experimental campaigns, co-authored publications, and grant-funded research projects. What is on offer:

Pilot Programme — Research variant — with research and development departments of industrial organisations. Proof-of-concept treatment on a defined component or material, delivering a measured residual stress report as a standalone research output or as the basis for a larger programme.
